Very Good !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AND
WELCOME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i have been poking around the forum for a while.
i have looked at a lot people's experiences on the forum and many of them mirror my own.
here is my disassociation letter.
Very Good !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AND
WELCOME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
do you think that god enjoys killing people?
it sure sounds like it to me; jw doctrine more or less scared me into thinking that god is going to kill all persons whom he/she thinks is not doing his will.
my question is, how can god kill someone for not being "christian", or following the bible out of sheer ignorance?
can't say, but the New World Translation Is !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
was there a comment made at a meeting that finally convinced you, this is not right?
for me a couple of weeks ago was in the service meeting, they stated that if the children didnt finish their homework because they were studying the bible or at a meeting that teachers should understand that their meetings and study are more important.
i looked at my wife and went "what"??
OH YES !!!!!!!!!!!
I was at an assembly, and the brother on the platform gave the following experience :
A six year old child was outside playing, and when the child next door came over to play, she said I cant play with you, because bad associtaion spoil useful habits. Isn't this a fine example on how our children learn from what we teach
I was never so sick, like i was that day, not enough hate in the world, now we're picking on young kids and judging them.
What made me sickest was the thunderous applause after he gave this experience.
I complained to my parents all the home during the car ride.
I guess maybe that was the beginning for me, in some strange way
i recently gave up studying with the witnesses after they told me off for going sailing with my family!
what a crock!
i said it was the easter long weekend and i needed to get away for a few days on the boat.
Better to get out now! As you can see friendship in the congregation is just conditional any way. Most of us wish we could have gotten out long before we did.
conditional is right, only if you do what they say, and only !!!!!!!!!, well said Sassy.
an earlier thread talking about the "illuminators" book used at the pioneer school jogged my memory.
i remember how excited everybody got about the upcoming school.
even the regular publishers got all excited about it.
but once your out and look back you can't help but see it.
WELL SAID !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i am currently dating a jehovas-witness, and have been for a while.
we have talked about marriage, but a lot of what i hear and read is that for her to marry a non-believer is frowned upon by others in the religion.
i am a non-believer of any religion.
If you were buying a new car, would you not test drive it, and check out the car thoroughly, and make sure its what you want.
If you were buying a house, would you not have it checked out, roofing, foundation, furnace etc.
Well, why any different, if someone is a part of something that is "big" in their life, should you not check it out thoroughly, before making a decision.
You will be very sorry,
Run dont Walk (away from the Watchtower)
RUN RUN RUN
what are some of the worst songs you've ever heard?
here's a list of mine: .
the memory remains - metallica.
"We Are Jehovah's Witnesses"
work, service, kingdom hall, nightlife, assembly, restaurant, what was you worst moment as a jw.
i'm sure we all have a top ten, .
for me hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmm, .
well, ??????????
work, service, kingdom hall, nightlife, assembly, restaurant, what was you worst moment as a JW.
I'm sure we all have a top ten,
for me hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmm,
I think my most embarassing was, telling a "BEAUTIFUL HOT HOT HOT" girl, I couldn't have sex with her, because I was a JW.
As Homer Simpson would say "DOH"
for good....... just say...... all contacts on here would be shut off, you would have no way of contacting anyone on here that you may have done before or do now, you would be left as you stand now, still with your family and friends, work colleagues in whatever capacity you enjoy them in real life, but without those you now know onscreen through this forum.
would you be able to pick your life back up and carry on.
i don't ask this lightly, i just wonder after reading a few posts recently in the last couple of years just how seriously some hold this forum almost to the point that it seems central to their lives (and that maybe so).. how would you feel?.
Why ask questions that can't happen
Like asking a JW , what if Armageddon never comes
or what if the Watchtower closes down tomorrow (can you imagine the party that would go on !!!)
when i was little, i can remember certain brothers?
who would hide small transistor radios in their suit jackets and listen to nhl playoff games via a small earphone instead of paying attention at the meetings.
these weren't teenagers or young guys... some were elders and/or ministerial servants... yet none of them ever seemed to get counselled for this kind of disrespectful behaviour.. did anyone else ever do things like this, when significant sporting events fell on meeting nights??.
yes the radio i the pocket, saw it many times, especially during playoffs. And at assemblies.
alot of us (me included) would got to a morning meeting on Sunday if we were going to the football game in buffalo, regular occurence, I was surprised how many brothers had SEASON'S TICKETS for the Buffalo Bills.
